New Project

Botresearch USA is in the process of creating a new conservation garden which will be a place where university students and their professors will be able to come for field trips or weekend and summer exercises. The gardens will also be open to the general public. These gardens, while limited to a single plant family, will be the most comprehensive exhibit for that family in the entire world, as it will be compromised initially of some 800 species, varieties, cultivars, and subspecies. This will be the only place where you will be able to view such a vast collection, which will only continue to grow in size.

In addition, there are plans to offer internships to university students who will work weekends and/or summers in the gardens, so as to get hands on experience working with these plants. Those students who work a pre-determined number of hours will be offered scholarships towards their education as compensation for their work.

This project is extremely important not only for the benefits that will be derived by the university students and the learning experience that will be realized by the visiting public, but this particular family of plants has been only minimally researched over the years, and yet holds great promise as sources for new pharmaceuticals in the fight against a number of dreaded diseases. This project therefore offers not only our research group but others a source for additional research endeavors.

Projects like these are expensive to undertake, and while there are some grants available for such endeavors, additional donations from private sources will be needed to cover many of the expenses. We would appreciate any contribution that you are able to make. Those people interested in making a donation should contact us for instructions at: botresearchusa@sbcglobal.net.

Remember your gifts and those of your friends will benefit our university students, ongoing research, conservation, and the general public in the form of new pharmacueticals to help in their fight against diseases. We thank you for considering to help.
